About Equality Matters

Equality Matters presents a range of statistical measures broken down by all available equality groups.

You can access measures pages in several ways:

Key Features:

  • Measure pages covering information for the most recent year available and historical time trends where available
  • Image downloads of the current year charts
  • Automatically generated data summaries for each measure’s trends and current values, which can be copied for use elsewhere
  • Tabular data for each chart, which can be copied for use elsewhere
  • Links to both the NISRA Data Portal Sources and the original publication where this measure was reported

Data Source

All of the data presented is sourced from the NISRA Data Portal, a repository for data on our population, society and economy.

All of the data presented is sourced from the NISRA Data Portal, a repository for data on our population, society and economy. The Portal is continually refreshed with new and updated datasets from across the Northern Ireland Civil Service and wider Public Sector. It gives users the opportunity to view and filter data sets, plot interactive charts, visualise data on interactive maps, save queries, create favourite datasets and widgets, access data in multiple formats - xlsx, csv, JSON-stat, px and share results and automate processes using API queries.

Rounding

Data is displayed as reported on the NISRA Data Portal. Automatic rounding to one decimal place is applied when figures reported on the Portal are at two decimal places or greater.

Missing equality group breakdowns

Some measures will not have breakdowns shown for all equality groups for one of two reasons:

  • Data is not available for the equality group on the NISRA Data Portal
  • Data is available on the NISRA Data Portal but is suppressed for display purposes in Equality Matters as all values came through at less than 0.5%
